There is no fixed timetable. We arrange each session around the dates our guests give us, so the most useful thing you can send is two or three days that would work during your stay.

  • Small groups · max 4 guests
  • Single travellers are welcome
  • KIKI KOJI LAB and MISO UMAMI LAB — Small-group classes of up to four guests; you may share the class with other guests, and private bookings are available on request. Hosted by Chie in simple English. KIKI KOJI LAB includes a printed guide in English to keep. Please book at least 5 days ahead.
  • UMAMI & KOJI LAB — Private to your group. English-speaking support staff work alongside Chie for the whole session, included in the price. Please book at least 4 days ahead.
  • Please tell us about any food allergies or dietary requirements when you book. Our kitchen uses a wide range of ingredients, including soy, nuts, sesame and fermented seasonings. Although nuts may not be used in your class menu, they are handled in the same kitchen. MISO UMAMI LAB uses soybeans.
  • The exact address is sent once the booking is confirmed.
  • Bookings close 5 days before for KIKI KOJI LAB and MISO UMAMI LAB, and 4 days before for UMAMI & KOJI LAB.
